A new state of the art computerized medical records system has been implemented at Animal Clinic of Granger. The new system is designed to improve the experience of the client and improve the efficiency and level of care for patients.

Dr. Jennifer Perusek spoke about the new system in a recent interview. "Just as human medicine is rapidily moving toward a completely electronic medical record, we too are making an investment in technology that improves the care and experience for both the client and the patient."

The system provides a more efficient way to provide treatment that ultimately results in improved care. " Our patients now have their diagnostic testing, whether digital xrays or lab results, stored electronically for easy and quick access. We can access a complete medical record from any area of the clinic."

The client experience has also been enhanced. Perusek commented on some of these enhancements. "The efficiencies gained by moving from a paper based system to an electronic medical record gave the doctors and staff more time to spend with the client which has always been a focus for us. We also use it for education and to help the client with the teatment decision process. Being able to show our clients digital images of disease processes and testing results can help them make a educated decision on the care of their pets. An image is worth a thousand words"
