The Animal Clinic of Granger has added a new anesthesia unit to its surgical suite. The new Sevoflurane unit allows a more accurate control of anesthesia depth. Quiet and quick recovery of surgical patients following anesthetic procedures is also enhanced.
Dr. Frank Perusek noted, "The big advantage is that we can offer a much safer and effective anesthetic procedure with the new equipment, especially with high risk patients." Dr. Frank Perusek also prefers the sevoflurane agent because of the way the gas interacts with the patient's bodily systems. "The sevo has a low blood gas solubility so there is minimal uptake by important organs such as the liver and kidneys. The anesthetic goes virtually straight to the nervous system where is does it's job."
